There are a lot of things that can cause an operator to need repair. The best indicator is if it is starting to run differently than normal or if you start hearing a noise that you did not hear before. Here are a few indicators:

The door is making a grinding noise
The chain or belt looks really loose
The remotes or keypad are not consistently working
The operator makes a clicking noise
The door will not close without holding down the wall button

If you notice any of these signs, we can come out and evaluate for you to see what it would look like to repair the operator as well as talk to you about keeping your current operator vs. replacing it with something new.

SIGNS IT IS TIME FOR A NEW GARAGE DOOR OPERATOR

Signs that indicate it is time for a new operator can be the same as the signs that the operator needs repair. Often we can repair an old operator but sometimes they are too old and are out of code or they are not worth the cost of repair. Sometimes replacing your operator is just personal preference. It can be nice to have a new one because of all of the cool features that they contain. We are always happy to discuss different options with you so that you feel comfortable knowing what you are getting.
